How to merge two Xero entities/accounts into one?

If you are operating two businesses separately and now want to merge them in to one. Then the main question arises is.. “How to merge two Xero entities/accounts into one?”. Second question arises: “Where do the exported data should be imported it in?” Also "If you make a mistake can you roll it back?"

The answer to the first question : “ There's no way to merge two organisations together. Instead the best option is to export and import data into the organisation you need to transfer via CSV file. All other data have to be entered manually.

The data which can be exported via CSV file are:

  • Chart of accounts(COA
  • Contact
  • General Ledger (GL) data
  • Inventory items
  • Invoices and bills

Answer to the next question:There's also no roll back function, but imported items can easily be deleted/voided. Make sure you keep both organisations active until you're sure they've been merged together correctly.

Hence " How to merge two Xero entities/accounts into one?" is now answered.
